Patrick Merot is a Training Analyst and a full member of the French Psychoanalytic Association (APF) whose presidency he held from 2012 to 2015. He has an interest in the mechanisms of faith. He is the author of «Dieu la mère », trace du maternel dans le religieux ([‘God the mother’, traces of the maternal in religion] PUF, 2014) and Je désosse une amie (I bone a girlfriend), Paris: Gallimard, 2018. Among his recent essays are: ‘D’un pamphlet l’autre, mouvement du fantasme chez Céline’ (From a pamphlet to another, the dynamic of phantasy in Céline) RFP, May 2019, volume 83-2  and ‘L’avenir du complotisme’ (The future of conspiracism), Le présent de la psychanalyse n° 6 (PUF, January 2022).
